Director of Member Experience, Policy & Professionalism

The Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board (WRREB) is seeking a Director of Member Experience, Policy & Professionalism to serve and support our Members in policy, compliance and professional development ensuring the effective delivery of services and an exceptional overall Member experience.

The role requires an accomplished leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, who has a deep understanding of the real estate industry and a heart to serve others through their leadership. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the professionalism and success of REALTORS® in Winnipeg and the surrounding region, while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment and contribute to the incredible reputation WRREB maintains in fostering innovation, accountability and Member service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic and Operational Leadership

  • Actively contribute to strategic and operational planning as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Prepare operating plans, budgets, reports and performance updates.
  • Lead and mentor staff across Member Services, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and service excellence.
  • Oversee Member tools and programs, the MLS® System and help desk support to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Events, and IT departments to align strategies and ensure coordinated delivery of Member tools and programs, professional development, policy and compliance initiatives.
  • Support the CEO in broker engagement programs, managing day-to-day planning and execution to strengthen Member relationships and value.
  • Represent WRREB at Member-facing and industry events, ensuring strong engagement and visibility.
  • Participate in governance and strategic planning sessions to support organizational goals.

Policy Understanding, Development and Implementation

  • Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of WRREB policies and relevant legislation, including the Real Estate Services Act, competition law and privacy law.
  • Lead the development, review, and refinement of WRREB policies to ensure alignment with legal and industry standards.
  • Communicate and implement policy updates effectively through guidance, training, and documentation.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory trends, providing recommendations and project briefs to support policy evolution.
  • Liaise with legal, regulatory, and real estate partners to maintain consistency between WRREB policy and REALTOR® ethical frameworks.

Professional Development and Member Onboarding

  • Oversee the development and delivery of WRREB’s professional development program, including courses, webinars, certifications and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with WRREB trainers and external partners to design and deliver training and onboarding programs that promote continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Evaluate professional development initiatives using data and Member feedback to improve engagement and program quality.
  • Coordinate with other industry partners to develop and deliver joint programming opportunities.

Membership Oversight

  • Manage membership administration, including applications, renewals, records and inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of Member data while maintaining compliance with privacy and data integrity standards.
  • Monitor and report on membership trends, retention and compliance statistics to inform decision-making.

MLS® Systems and Compliance Oversight

  • Oversee Member inquiries related to MLS® policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Supervise listing processing and related documentation to ensure data accuracy, efficiency and adherence to established standards.
  • Monitor MLS® activities to identify compliance issues and manage the resolution process.
  • Lead the Compliance Program and oversee the Professional Standards process, including investigations, hearings and training.
  • Work proactively to maintain the integrity of MLS® data and uphold professional standards across all Members.

Committees

  • Serve as staff liaison to key WRREB Committees, including Investigative, Professional Standards, Member Engagement, MLS® & Technology and the Commercial Division.
  • Provide strategic and operational support to committees, ensuring effective communication, documentation and follow-up on committee initiatives.

Building Oversight

  • Manage building and property operations through contractors and vendors.
  • Oversee operating and capital budgets to ensure cost-effective and efficient facility management.
  • Coordinate maintenance and upgrades to support a professional and functional work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in real estate brokerage management, compliance or membership administration.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple programs and drive measurable results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of real estate regulation, compliance, MLS® operations, and REALTOR® codes of ethics.
  • Proven governance and committee experience with volunteer boards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex policy and compliance issues into actionable guidance.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Post-secondary degree in business administration, communications, real estate law or a related field.

Note: Real estate registration is considered an asset, but the successful candidate must be prepared to relinquish their registration upon accepting this role.
