W. John A. Bulman

Chancellor of the University of Winnipeg (1984 - 1996)

At the time of his induction Mr. Bulman was chairman and president of The Bulman Group Ltd., which included companies in Winnipeg, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.  He was chairman of Wawanesa Mutual Insurance and a director of more than  half a dozen other Canadian companies.  He was on the business advisory panel of the Bank of Montreal the Chancellor of the University of Winnipeg, director of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.  He was also chairman of the Board of Governors of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

In the field of voluntary service, Mr. Bulman has been president of the United Way of Winnipeg; President of the Manitoba Club; held several offices with Crescent Fort Rouge United Church.

He has held many executive positions with organizations involved in public affairs.

Mr. Bulman has received awards from the Manitoba Institute of Management, the Canadian Institute of Management, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, and the University of Winnipeg.  He is listed in Canadian Who's Who, and the Financial Post Director of Directors.
